Major Achievements: -

During 2010, on the eve of 15th.August we have observed the Green Independence Day in the forest fringe villages of the tribal populated in 10 districts of Odisha. The memorandums are being sent by different local institutions to Governor of Odisha, The Chief Minister, Minister of Forest and Environments, Panchayatiraj, Revenue, Minister of SC and ST towards their recognisation of CFR under FRA as soon as possible.

The partners of FoGGO are given hand holding supports to the stakeholders in advocacy and supporting them during the campaigning for their various claims.

The exposures are being organized for the selective and active tribal leaders to learn the successful criteria of addressing the right based issues relating to climate change along with confirming their livelihood security.

Developments of Herbal gardens are established in different tribal pockets by the help of traditional healers.

Forest protection measures are being taken up in 10 operational districts of FoGGO with the support of area people.

Similarly in few areas Plantation and protection measures of forest have also been taken up in motivation by the partners.

Necessary arrangements and the initiation of partners are already taken up for Eco-Village set ups in 10 operational districts of Odisha.

Awaking people for Eco-friendly Organic farming through motivation, training, exposure and demonstration.

The partners’ involvement in Disaster managements during flood and cyclone hit pockets in 10 operational districts of Odisha.

Continuation of Study and research activities by each partners on climate change situations in their respective areas.

Dissemination of value based information of climate change issues through walling, circulation of leaflets and booklets to aware the community.

Involved School and College students, Grass root level organizations, SHG and women organizations along with other stake holders in the stream at our 10 Operational districts of Odisha.
